Spicy Dalia Pulao Recipe - Broken Wheat Pulao

To begin making the Spicy Dalia Pulao Recipe, first we have to dry roast Dalia or broken wheat till it gets a nice aroma
broken wheat (dalia/ godumai rava)(1 cup) - 2
For this, in a skillet heat 1 teaspoon of ghee on low flame, add the dalia and roast till it gets a deep brown colour

This will take 5 minutes

Now turn off the flame ans set aside

In a pressure cooker, add 1 teaspoon oil, and heat on medium flame, now add a bay leaf and cumin seeds and allow it to sizzle
cumin seeds (jeera)(1/2 teaspoon)bay leaf (tej patta)(1) - 6
Next add chopped onion and saute it till it is translucent
onion - finely chopped(2)carrot (gajjar) - finely chopped(1)green beans (french beans) - finely chopped(5)green chillies - finely chopped(2)tomatoes - chopped(2)tomatoes - chopped(2)coriander (dhania) leaves - finely chopped for garnish - 7
Add ginger garlic paste, green chillies, carrots, beans and chopped tomatoes, sauté it for two minutes
onion - finely chopped(2)carrot (gajjar) - finely chopped(1)green beans (french beans) - finely chopped(5)green chillies - finely chopped(2)red chilli powder(1 teaspoon)tomatoes - chopped(2)ginger garlic paste(1 teaspoon)red chilli powder(1 teaspoon)tomatoes - chopped(2)ginger garlic paste(1 teaspoon)coriander (dhania) leaves - finely chopped for garnish - 8
Continue to saute for 3 – 4 minutes

Add salt, spices- turmeric powder, garam masala powder and red chilli powder and mix them
turmeric powder (haldi)(1/2 teaspoon)salt - to tastegaram masala powder(1/2 teaspoon)red chilli powder(1 teaspoon)red chilli powder(1 teaspoon) - 10
Now add dry roasted broken wheat and mix well
broken wheat (dalia/ godumai rava)(1 cup) - 11
Add 2 cups of water and close the pressure cooker
water - as required - 12
Pressure cook the pulao for 4 whistles and turn off the flame
