To start preparing Spiced Turnips with Spinach Recipe, get all the ingredients handy
turnips - peeled and diced into cubes(3)spinach leaves (palak) - bunch(1) - 2
In a pan, heat oil

Once the oil is hot, add in the cumin seeds and allow them to sizzle
cumin seeds (jeera)(3/4 teaspoon) - 4
Add sliced onions and saute it till it changes colour on a medium flame
onion - sliced(1) - 5
Add ginger and garlic paste and saute it for a minute until the raw smell goes
ginger - paste(1/2 teaspoon)garlic - paste(optional)(1 teaspoon) - 6
Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and coriander powder
tomatoes - chopped(2)salt - to tastered chilli powder - to tasteturmeric powder (haldi)(3/4 teaspoon)coriander powder (dhania)(3/4 teaspoon)sprig coriander (dhania) leaves - finely chopped(2) - 7
Cover and cook for another 2 minutes till done
sunflower oil - to cook - 8
Add turnips, mix it well
turnips - peeled and diced into cubes(3) - 9
Cover it and cook on a low flame till it 3/4th done, takes about 5-10 minutes
sunflower oil - to cook - 10
Add chopped spinach, green/red chillies and cilantro
spinach leaves (palak) - bunch(1)tomatoes - chopped(2)red chilli powder - to tastegreen chillies - slit(3)sprig coriander (dhania) leaves - finely chopped(2) - 11
Mix well, cover it and cook on a low flame till it changes the colour or looks roasted
sunflower oil - to cook - 12
Serve the prepared Spiced Turnips and Spinach Recipe hot with chapatis or naan
