South Indian Style Murungakkai Poriyal Recipe - Drumstick Stir Fry

To begin making Murungakkai Poriyal Recipe, wash the drumsticks well & peel them by removing the tough green part
drumstick - cut into 3 inch(5 pieces)green chillies - slit(2) - 2
Cut them in 2 inches length
drumstick - cut into 3 inch(5 pieces) - 3
Take about glass of water in a kadhi, bring it to a boil, add these drumsticks with salt, turmeric powder (optional) & lightly steam them for 5-8 minutes
drumstick - cut into 3 inch(5 pieces)turmeric powder (haldi)(1/2 teaspoon)salt - to tastewater - as needed - 4
Be careful not to overcook the drumsticks

It should be tender but not mushy as in sambar or avial

Drain the water, keep the steamed drumsticks aside to cool slightly

Grate the coconut, add the green chillies & grind them well in a mixer
fresh coconut - grated(1/2 cup)green chillies - slit(2)teaspoons coconut oil(2)dry red chillies(2) - 8
In the kadai, add coconut oil, once hot, add the mustard seeds, let it crackle
fresh coconut - grated(1/2 cup)mustard seeds(1 teaspoon)teaspoons coconut oil(2) - 9
Then add the dry red chillies, curry leaves & add the steamed drumsticks
drumstick - cut into 3 inch(5 pieces)green chillies - slit(2)sprig curry leaves(1)dry red chillies(2) - 10
Mix everything well & let it cook for a minute

Add the grated coconut & give it one last stir
