Mangalore Fish Curry Recipe
A non-veg Mangalorean recipe with king fish - sliced, onion - very finely chopped, green chillies - slit. Ready in 40 min, serves 4.

To begin making the Mangalore Fish Curry Recipe, marinate the cleaned fish with salt and turmeric and keep it aside
king fish - sliced(500 grams)turmeric powder (haldi)(1 tablespoon)curry leaves - handfulsalt - to taste - 2
Soak tamarind in 1/2 cup warm water and keep aside
tamarind(25 grams) - 3
In a heavy bottomed pan, heat oil and sauté the onions and chillies till the onions are golden brown
onion - very finely chopped(1)green chillies - slit(4)red chilli powder(1 tablespoon) - 4
Keep stirring so that the onions don't burn
onion - very finely chopped(1) - 5
Once done add red chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder and sauté for 1 minute
tablespoons coriander powder (dhania)(2)red chilli powder(1 tablespoon)turmeric powder (haldi)(1 tablespoon) - 6
Extract juice of the soaked tamarind and add to the onion mixture
onion - very finely chopped(1)tamarind(25 grams) - 7
Add 3/4 cup of water and boil for 4 -5 minutes

Now add the marinated fish and cook till done

Reduce the heat and add coconut milk, curry leaves and simmer for a minute
coconut milk(3/4 cup)curry leaves - handful - 10
After a minute turn off the heat
