  2. 2

Take a heavy bottomed pan, add the sugar and water to it

    sugar(1 cup)water(100 ml)
  3. 3

Place it on a medium heat and bring it to boil

  4. 4

Once the sugar has dissolved completely, turn the heat down and allow the mixture to boil for a few minutes till it reaches a one-string consistency

    sugar(1 cup)
  5. 5

To test if it has reached the right consistency, transfer a few drops of the syrup on a clean plate, allow it to cool for 15-20 seconds and test it for the formation of a single thread between your thumb and index finger

  6. 6

If the syrup has reached single thread consistency, transfer the ground cashew nut powder into the syrup and stir continuously for 4-5 minutes

    1/4 cashew nuts(2 cups)
  7. 7

The mix will gradually turn into a thick paste

  8. 8

Knead till it is smooth, uniform and like a dough

  11. 11

Next, spread a sheet of butter paper on the counter top

    water(100 ml)
  14. 14

Place a heat proof bowl over it and melt the dark chocolate over it

milk chocolate - or dark chocolate(1 cup)
  15. 15

The heat generated in the boiling water beneath will melt the chocolate gradually

    water(100 ml)milk chocolate - or dark chocolate(1 cup)
  16. 16

Ensure that the boiling water does not touch the heatproof bowl

    water(100 ml)
  17. 17

When the chocolate has melted properly, pour it over the rolled kaju katli dough and spread it evenly with the help of a spatula

milk chocolate - or dark chocolate(1 cup)
  18. 18

Allow it to cool for some time and then transfer it to a surface and refrigerate it for 15-20 mins
