Kohlrabi Recipe (Knol Khol Poriyal)
A vegetarian Indian recipe with kohl rabi - peeled and sliced, onion, tomato - diced. Ready in 25 min, serves 3.

To begin making the Kohlrabi recipe, take kohlrabi and peel the outer fibrous part and cut into small squares
kohl rabi - peeled and sliced(3 cups) - 2
Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan

When heated, add cumin seeds and mustard seeds
cumin seeds (jeera)(1/2 teaspoon)mustard seeds(1/2 teaspoon) - 4
When they splutter, add a teaspoon of black urad dal
black urad dal (split)(1 teaspoon) - 5
Saute until the dal tuurns brown

Now add in curry leaves, dry red chillies and turmeric powder
dry red chillies(2)curry leaves - fewturmeric powder (haldi)(1/4 teaspoon)red chilli powder(1/2 teaspoon)coriander powder (dhania)(1 tablespoon) - 7
After 1 minute, add sliced onions and fry till the onion becomes soft
kohl rabi - peeled and sliced(3 cups)onion(1) - 8
Add tomato slices and cook till they become little soft
tomato - diced(1) - 9
Add fresh peas followed by kohlrabi slices and mix everything
kohl rabi - peeled and sliced(3 cups)green peas (matar)(1/4 cup) - 10
Now close the lid and cook for some more time mixing at regular intervalsAdd spices - coriander powder, red chilli powder and salt as per taste
turmeric powder (haldi)(1/4 teaspoon)red chilli powder(1/2 teaspoon)coriander powder (dhania)(1 tablespoon)salt - for taste - 11
Add dry dessicated coconut, mix everything and cook for few minutes by closing lid

Cook till kohlrabi slices become soft

Turn off the heat and garnish with coriander leaves

Serve Kohlrabi along with Dal Tadka and Steamed Rice for a weekday meal with your family
