To begin making the Foxtail Millet Vermicelli Upma Recipe, place a skillet over medium heat
foxtail millet - vermicelli(1 cup) - 2
Add oil, sprinkle mustard seeds, cumin seeds and allow it splutter for few seconds
mustard seeds(1 teaspoon)cumin seeds (jeera)(1 teaspoon) - 3
Add curry leaves and allow it to crackle
sprig curry leaves(1) - 4
Add peanuts and fry them until they turn light brown
raw peanuts (moongphali)(2 tablespoon) - 5
Add sliced onions and saute until they turn translucent
onion - sliced(1) - 6
Add sambar powder, salt and turmeric powder
sambar powder(1 tablespoon)turmeric powder (haldi)(1 teaspoon)salt - to taste - 7
You can add foxtail millet vermicelli and mix well
foxtail millet - vermicelli(1 cup) - 8
Add about 1 cup of water and keep it in low flame and cook till the water evaporates
