To begin making the Andhra Style Patoli Recipe grind the soaked chana dal with green chilli in a mixer, add little water and grind it to a thick paste
chana dal (bengal gram dal) - soaked in hot water for 30 minutes(1 cup)green chilli(1)ginger garlic paste(1 teaspoon)red chilli powder(1 tablespoon) - 2
Heat a kadai with oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal and splutter for few seconds
mustard seeds(1 teaspoon)white urad dal (split)(1 teaspoon)cumin seeds (jeera)(1 teaspoon) - 3
Add curry leaves and leave it to crackle for 2 seconds
sprig curry leaves(1) - 4
Add the chopped onions, ginger garlic paste and saute till the onions turn translucent
onion - chopped(1)ginger garlic paste(1 teaspoon) - 5
Add the ground chana paste and keep mixing it
chana dal (bengal gram dal) - soaked in hot water for 30 minutes(1 cup)ginger garlic paste(1 teaspoon) - 6
Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder and by using a wooden spatula try to separate the dal and create a crumbly texture

Add salt and check for seasoning
salt - to taste - 8
