To begin making Avalakki Bella Usuli recipe, wash poha thoroughly with water and drain the excess water
poha (flattened rice) - you can use thin as well(1 cup)water - for soaking poha - 2
Soak poha in a cup of warm water for about 5 minutes
poha (flattened rice) - you can use thin as well(1 cup)water - for soaking poha - 3
Drain the water and set asideIn a mixing bowl, add soaked poha
poha (flattened rice) - you can use thin as well(1 cup)water - for soaking poha - 4
Combine grated jaggery, grated coconut and cardamom powder
jaggery - grated(1/2 cup)fresh coconut - grated(1/4 cup)cardamom powder (elaichi)(1 teaspoon) - 5
Mix them well such that they are combined together
poha (flattened rice) - you can use thin as well(1 cup) - 6
Serve Avalakki Usuli with some grated jaggery on the top
jaggery - grated(1/2 cup)fresh coconut - grated(1/4 cup) - 7
Serve Avalakki Bella Usuli during your fasting days as a snack or as a whole meal
